I would be interested in someone creating a caricature of me that I can use as a Twitter icon, on blogs, on web posts, linkedin etc.

A successful caricature would be able to show the following:

Although I am a teacher of traditional subjects such as history, politics, social sciences, I make use of technology (such as tablets/data projections/online research etc) rather than using blackboards/chalk etc. In other words I teach in a very 21st century way.

Images linked to traditional teacher stereotypes such as apples, blackboards etc are therefore not the image I want to convey. I'd rather something more modern in the design elements.

I'm often described as "high energy", people person, positive, outgoing, friendly, approachable... it'd be nice to have this come through in any caricature of me.

I'm conservative in style of dress / hair, looks etc but not in manner or teaching style... these can be casual... I am athletic in build (wider shoulder than hips/waist) and look fit and wear glasses but these are often/sometimes pushed up on top of my head.

I often wear a blue long sleeved shirt (usually with sleeves rolled up) and dark tie (usually without a pattern and quite narrow), black jeans-cut trousers with belt, and lace up black Doc Marten shoes/boots. Hair color is dark brown/black but graying. My hair is short but not cropped. I rarely if ever wear a jacket.

The final design must be very clear and complimentary to me. It will be used in professional settings and should convey a young outlook but experienced and in touch with young adults.

Entry 10 is doing extremely well now. Of all it is closest to what I am after - closer now than #6 that I know is still being developed. I think we just need to get the face closer to what I look like (I know it's a caricature but I don't think this is recognizably me yet - IN THE FACE/HEAD ONLY). Perhaps wearing glasses makes the drawing harder for artists? Perhaps the glasses could be put on the desk? (or in my hand rather than the pen - I'm right handed! Maybe nothing in my left hand?) I almost always wear black shoes. On the background green board, I love the detail. The board and yellow notes would be more meaningful if it included words like "Inquiry approach", "Student Centred", "Focus Questions" "Research", and/or "Collaborate".

Entries #3 and #4 are well away from what I'm after. Entry 3 is rather simplistic and stylistically not what I was hoping for. I do like that it has some elements of background but really they need a lot or rethinking and consideration. Entry 4 is not where I want to go although I can see some elements of the brief were considered. Entry #1 still seems closest to the design I was hoping for. I would encourage all entries to draft further samples.

Entry #1 is more the type of thing that I am after although, due to the face/hair ONLY, Entry #2 is more recognizable as what I look like. Entry #1 is closer to my desired caricature. The stance is good, the body shape is good, the shape of the glasses is good - but Entry #1 lacks some key elements as outlined below and the face/hair isn't close enough yet. Of all devices that I use a mobile phone is least common for me. The winning entry / caricature will probably be closer to the context description so that I can use it like a professional logo as part of my "brand".

hi, just to clarify, this drawing that you're looking for will be for socila media, or like oblibe account pictures, correct? if so, i would suggest a half body drawing. this would emphasize the details, specially the face, of the drawing, due to profile pictures being too small specially when viewed via smartphones. just suggesting :)

  Sorry left out your reply: This will have many uses but mainly for online presence - account profile pictures etc. All the accounts can have the image enlarged however. While the face is very important - so are elements that indicate my skills/interests/background etc.

Entry #1 : Thank you for this sample entry. I think this is a really great start. Although the tie is too short, the body is pretty great. I often wear button down collars so the collar is excellent. My hair is definitely darker - maybe that didn't show in the photos. It's also usually worn in a more slick / wet look. Unfortunately I also tend to have a few more wrinkles - the face is a bit "young" (sadly). Perhaps the shirt would also be more typical of me in a shade slightly more "blue" than gray. Also (in terms of background) I think I do need something to flag my links to education, history teaching, and use of technology - this is part of it's prospective use. (Whiteboard? Marker Pens? Books? Desk? Computer? Tablet?)

  I'm not sure what styles I like. If there was a way of blending the style of Robert Downey Jr images (last links) with the others, it might be a start for you to play with. I think the best images seem to be recognizably the person and they seem to capture something of the personality of the person.
