Custom Car Builders Needs New Logo Design

I have a client looking to have a logo designed and we are simply too busy at the moment. They currently have a simple "shield" shape with the words on the outside (which we can't find a copy of). The idea was along the lines of several car companies that have the shield style logos.

They have no preferences on colors or styles. We know we don't want anything that is simply a car with the name. The name of the company is "Team No Sleep Hotrods", so we were discussing something with an alarm clock with engine headers or something to that effect that would incorporate the idea behind the name.

Though there are no real color preferences, they did mention less flashy colors and definitely no yellow as a primary color. The owner likes simplicity, symmetry, and a modern look.

We need something that works in print, online, and with embroidery (for shop gear). It also needs to work as a monochrome design for certain media. Full color needs to be no more than 3 colors.

We will need the original Illustrator or EPS files in full color, all black, and all white.

    Two requests: First, if you have several images of the same logo please don't enter them all individually. Simply add the different versions in the same entry. Second, can someone please try an alarm clock with headers? Think of the old hotrods with the exhaust coming out the sides of the engine pointing up.
