Inside the clouds
‘It will take you years and then also you may fail to explore the whole of Meghalaya’ said a friend of mine, back in Assam, who is basically from Shillong, it’s true, indeed.
The most popular sight here is Cherrapunjee, beautifully crafted by God’s own hand, the place gives you a memory to cherish your whole life.
But, we decided to visit Laitlum, it was a less popular sight in comparison to Cherrapunjee, but we are glad that we visited Laitlum, because, later when asked I would say- Laitlum was the best part of the escape.
We started for Laitlum at late in the afternoon, booked a taxi after negotiating with our faintest sense. But yes, even if we were being looted, the music played by the driver definitely made up for it.
I remember walking down the lower jail road, I saw many stalls decorated with music CDs.
Surprisingly, I couldn’t even find a single CD with a Bollywood album, maybe there were, but mostly, it was western music. They had a classic collection of Jazz, Blues, Rock, Country, Metal and what not. People of shillong certainly have a great taste in music, I loved their taste.

On our way to Laitlum village, Meghalaya.
Even the way to Laitlum was so mesmerizing, it certainly justified that the beauty of a journey is no less than its destiny.
Rejuvenated by the calm edges, the cold breeze slashes the mist with warm melody.
The misty edges let’s you solitary enough to rethink about life, and you realize how beautiful it is to live.
