Consulting Project

Based upon a pre-assigned Case – Measurements & Management at CitySoft (to be purchased from HBP) and drawing from your course assignments and outside research, you will develop a

comprehensive Consulting Proposal (see Bb for specifics regarding the assignment). You will be

required to develop both a proposal framework and content (what you would normally do as a

consultant to address the client’s problem(s). Your Client proposal should answer the questions

– what? when? how? & why? as well as, explain the value and benefits derived from your

engagement. Some elements that your proposal should include is: an executive summary,

definition of roles of both the Client and Consultant, deliverables that have been agreed to by

both the Client and the Consultant and milestones for those deliverables and project costs.

Remember that the elements noted are not a complete list, but rather examples to help you get

started.

• Purpose – this project will afford you the opportunity to demonstrate competency in

practicing one of the critical elements in consulting – writing and delivering a proposal

for a consulting engagement. It is a skill building opportunity.

• Requirements – you will be asked to read a case, write a proposal and submit the

proposal as your work product, as if you were delivering it to your client. You will deliver

a written report via Blackboard, as an Assignment before the end of the last class.

• Assessment – the evaluation criteria for the written proposal will be: (i) content – all

key issues are to be addressed, (ii) insights from readings are to be reflected, (iii) a

compelling argument is to be provided and finally (iv) quality of the overall work product

(the proposal) including writing style, context, spelling, sentence structure et al will be

assessed.

This will be a minimum of 10 pages. The cite page will be on top of that.
