ive built similar devices in the past. raspberry pi powered library management system that let you check out books using your phone, rfid, finger print and some other biometric systems, and from your description what i understand is you want a system with a qr reader and the users will use a qr code on their phone( generated by an app) to authenticate and let them in. feel free to text me back so that we can discuss further. I've read your job description and I can help you with this project because I have 4+ years of experience using Arduino/RPi and interfacing them with RF/Bluetooth modules and motor drivers. For your application we will use Bluetooth module HC05/06 with either Arduino or RPi. When you open the app in the phone and scan the QR, it will connect to the Arduino/RPi via Bluetooth and verify that code. After that we'll excite/de-excite the motorized lock.
