We need someone with Windows development experience for a project we are working on. The project is built using the following Microsoft stack/toolset- SQL Server * SQL Database Engine * SSRS Reporting Services Visual Studio 2013 using C++ MFC Libraries- * Windows Forms * Windows Services * ODBC Database interface (CRecordsets) C# .NET * Windows Forms The central core of the system is a Windows Service which tracks and records transactions, along with a second Windows service to interface the system with external hardware using RS232/RS485 communications. The services are written in C++ & MFC to improve performance on low power commodity PC's In addition to the Windows Services based modules, the system includes a user interface. A module for users to process day to day transactions, written in C++ & MFC; while a suite of C# modules make up an administration console for configuration changes to the system, reporting etc. All modules communicate back to the central core using various inter-process communication methods including Named Pipes and Microsoft Message Queues. The immediate need is to rework the communication between the modules, maybe using TCP/IP based methods to improve the reliability of the system and improve the robustness of service what interfaces with the external hardware (C++ MFC). Once these are completed, work will be needed to imrprove the administration tools (C# Winforms).
