I am looking to create some custom kitchen cabinet doors using plywood. I need help producing the CAD files that will be used with the CNC routing machine. I will be using full sheets of plywood (dimensions: 18x2440x1220mm). There are 3 different sections that will need to be cut. Here are the dimensions (in mm): 800x600 (4 pieces) 800x300 (2 pieces) 800x400 (2 pieces) 100x1960 (2 pieces) 800x450 800x150 400x600 I believe it will be possible to fit all of these cuts within 2 full sheets of the plywood. I had a rough go at laying them out the pieces myself: [login to view URL] It was recommended to be that there should be a distance of 15mm between pieces. The plywood will have a grain in one direction and it would be best if all the pieces that share will go next to each other share the same grain direction. Some of the pieces will need to have some holes drilled for screws and a recessed area for the hinge bracket. The hing hole has a depth of 12mm, with the screw holes being 6mm. I found these files online which can be used as a guide for the location and measurements of these holes: [login to view URL] - it will be super important that these are hyper accurate. So your task will be to neatly layout the pieces onto the plywood sheet. Then place the holes for the hinges. Is this a project that you can help me with? Thanks!

Hello, There is an automatic nesting feature in SolidWork to help with similar tasks. You have posibility to input minimum distance between parts, minimum distance to the edges, sheet sizes, available sheets quantity and some other parameters. Your task can be done in the most efficient way with the nesting tool from SolidWorks. After that you can use that sheets to add hinge holes and other changes. "The plywood will have a grain in one direction and it would be best if all the pieces that share will go next to each other share the same grain direction." If you can indicate which parts should be neighboring and precise dimensions of the hinge holes that would be enough information to start the work. Please contact me if you are interested in my help. Greetings, I would be interested in taking up this project/work. I am a certified SOLIDWORKS Expert providing CAD Design/Drafting services. The sizes/qty can be accommodated on the 2 sheets of plywood. The sizes given in the DXF files (files showing holes) are 3 mm less in both length and width compared to your required sizes. So please confirm if holes are to be made based on your specified size and their position/sizes are to be taken from the other files with the holes.
