Report on coomunity website development technologies

This contest is for you to product a brief but concise report. We need need you to sign up to 2 photography websites, spend a few minutes to upload a few nice photos and use each of the sites and to know how the sites work. Once you''re in you need to make sure you check the features of the websites including taking part in a challenge in [login to view URL] to find out how to vote for a photo in a contest. Also take a look at the user interface, the visual side of voting , etc. Once you get a good feel of the websites, what we need you to do is to write a few words on what technologies you think the 2 website are built with and more importantly, what technologies you would recommend to develop a similar comunity (with different features of course but as busy and popular) which is fully scalable and the reason why. The "why" is the most important part. Also let us know what you think would be the cost of development. PLEASE NOTE, we are very unlikely to recruit you to develop the website. This task is really a feasibility study. We already have had a prototype website developed with which we've proved the technology. We also have a handful of companies (not one man bands and fantasists) with multiple people and skills short-listed and their proposals are on our table and your recommendations will help us make our mind up. So to recap, we want your independent professional and impartial opinion and the reasons you would use the technology you're recommending. So your task is simply to recommend the framework (if any), scripting language, database, UI, so don't try and sell your services.
