Intermittent Hypoxia and it`s therapeutic potential in neurological applications

To summarise the Cardross Ltd innovative digital technology healthcare proposal;

The healthcare market need this investment proposition addresses is the increasing burden of chronic and neurological degenerative diseases on healthcare systems and the opportunity for management of these conditions in a range of clinical settings, as well as potentially through patient self-care at home ( see attached graphic on the Proposed Digital Technology) through a non- pharma/ non drug, non- invasive, hand held, portable device.

I`ve covered some introductory information below on the Cardross investment proposition on what we propose to achieve with a real breakthrough device in healthcare particularly in Stroke and Dementia, may be of interest regarding funding for an innovative ,digital healthcare equity investment proposition based on Intermittent Hypoxia (IH ) which will design, create and test the first portable, hand -held ,non- drug non- invasive ( ie it will not puncture the skin, any tissue or membrane ) |IH device worldwide.

[login to view URL] body has” watchdog “ sensory neurons in the neck called carotid body chemoreceptors which are activated when oxygen levels fall to 9% (from 21% which is the amount of oxygen in the air we breathe along with 78% nitrogen )

[login to view URL] increases the activity of neurons in the brain containing Serotonin which then “ broadcast “ across the brain and spinal cord triggering neuro plasticity ( in every day terms this is like rebooting or reorganising the brain ) in motor nerve cells that innervate or arouse the muscles which makes them work better

Intermittent Hypoxia and the Nobel prize in medicine and physiology in 2019 ;

We had further encouragement on the potential of IH in clinical application recently with the award in October 2019 of the Nobel Prize in physiology and medicine going to a research study on Hypoxia by Sir Peter Ratcliffe of Oxford University and the Francis Crick Institute ( along with two American colleagues including Gregg Semenza at Johns Hopkins University who is known to our colleague Professor Gordon Mitchell in Florida ) as covered in this BBC link ; How our cells sense oxygen wins Nobel prize - [login to view URL] The research work of the winner of the Nobel Prize in physiology and medicine is based entirely on the clinical benefits of how humans cells react to lower oxygen levels. Our colleague Prof Matthew Walters said “the award of the prize will help to emphasise the profound biological effects of hypoxia and its therapeutic potential. “ Nobel Laureate in 2019 Peter Ratcliffe who trained as a nephrologist said in my telephone call with him, “ IH impacts on so many cells including dendritic and many tissues including nervous ones with the motor neuron dendrite and muscle tissue and therefore has significant therapeutic potential. We`ve only scratched the surface on the therapeutic potential of intermittent hypoxia which has been unappreciated until now.”
