I need a motion sensor that sends 1 (movement) or 0 (no movement) and time to my own server. All ideas are welcome. If there is not something better I was thinking in build the hardware with: - Arduino / Raspberry - PIR Sensor - WiFi / SIM module - Battery And then program the functionally to send the info. 1) I need it to be a wireless prototype that I can place on a wall or in a desk. 2) I will provide an API POST method to send the info to my server. 3) You will have to ship the device to Spain Materials needed can be paid in advance Bonus: If there are two persons in the house, I would also like to know which one the system has detected. All ideas about it (thermal cameras, radio frequency sensors…) are also welcome. The budget will change if this functionality can be achieved.

Good day, I have much experience developing IoT and automation devices on the Arduino and other Microcontroller platforms. I have read your project details and I think we will be able to achieve that. We can use a simple NODEMCU board, which will provide us with both detection and wifi connectivity. To differentiate the person who was detected by the sensor, we can ping the Ip address of their phone or we can try to connect to their Bluetooth depending on the distance involved. I would propose to use ESP8266 module. My bid includes a single prototype and shipping. In the most cases you will need an active (battery powered) "tag", otherwise a distance for detection of the determined person will be very short. It is possible to use a "tags" based on a radio (for example, nRF24) WiFi (ESP8266-01) or bluetooth. It is possible to achieve approx. 1-2 month of working of the tag with a small LiIon battery

Hi The ideal solution would be NodeMCU ($15) for WiFi communication. If you need it to be connected via GSM then + SIM900 module which is quite expensive ($30). And I need information about your server protocols. Best regards, Denis Poduzov

I've done similar projects with PIC, Arduino and Pi. I've also done projects which network the information between ECUs and to the internet. Home automation is an interest of mine and I'm currently working very deeply in automotive IoT projects. I can work with both the elecrtical and mechanical design and the software side of the project. It would be useful to know at what sort of range you need to detect the movement, and whether it is human, adult, animal, etc... I can work on an hourly rate or for a fixed price once we know a little more detail about what the deliverables are expected to be.

Hi, I'm an expert in programming microcontrollers, I could suggest you use a microcontroller that is not Arduino, for example one of the Texas Instruments brand, it could be cheaper and less spacious, simpler, more personalized, I can design the complete system, However if you require Arduino for some reason I can also do it, I hope we can reach an agreement that benefits us both.

I am an Electronic Engineer currently pursuing my master degree in computer science. I have done a project like this before. I used an arduino and a gsm shield to send data from a car to a web server. In your case, the best option would be to use an arduino and wifi shield or only a raspberry pi. For distinguishing between 2 people the easier way to go would be to assign a RFID tag to each of them. A better solution using some kind of facial recognition can be done, but will take more time and money.
