Hi,the best possible solution for this project is to make use of Lora transceivers due to the fact that the can transmit and receive over very long distances (1-3km),as this is the method I'll be using for your design. I've implement these systems for various projects examples of such was a long range soil pH measuring device with range of over 1.5km ,the advantage of using my system is that you can modify your tanks height for longer range communication. Hello, I’m interested in this project, but I need some more information. At the moment you have a pump is started by the meaning of a DOL right? For this kind of project, I think that an off the shelf device like esp-8266 can be a good choice to make the wireless communication. It can be used in both transmitter and receiver side. It only needs an ac/dc adapter. To replace the DOL we can use a relay driven by the esp-8266.
