Dear Sir/Madam,
I am Iulian Seba, an exploration geologist with a large experience in various projects across Europe, Africa and US, working for various mineral deposits.
I am an experienced user of MapInfo, ArcInfo, Global Mapper, QGIS and of various other software packages for special purposes like geochemistry, geophysics or engineering (Geosoft , Surfer, Rockware, AutocadMap, etc).
All the time, a key part of each of the projects was the "conversion" (digitise) of the old paper maps (scanned) in a vector format and gather in a modern data base (GIS).
I have a large experience in processing old paper maps: taking the scan in an appropriate coordinate system (georeferencing) then digitizing each point from the paper map (extracting the x, y coordinates) and extracting the generic Z values ( TM, EM, V , geochemical data/grades, etc ) in an appropriate GIS related table, with X, Y, Z fields (X,Y/coordinates, Z the specific geophysical value).
Hooping that my skills are useful for your project I remain at your disposal for any other details.
Kind regards,
Iulian Seba
