Create SVG version of simple logo provided as PNG

I need a SVG file to be created for a simple black-and-white logo that I can provide an example of as a PNG file. The logo simply consists of 3 disks with segments taken out of them, with positions and sizes that I can describe in a couple of sentences. My problem is that I don't have the skills for SVG editors like Inkscape to make the diagonal lines straight - I can only manually trace a straight line which leaves rough edges which I can't smooth without affecting the disks. I expect that this would be really simple for someone with experience using SVG editors.
