Basically i need some assistance on Image processing, as i am good with OCR using Tesseract but getting difficulties in Image processing. Attached is the example of Tax Bill from which i need to extract info but extracting info i have code but i need some assistance on image processing to make the text clearer and remove the gray portion on due date section.

I had done 2 ocr project for myself. one include taking screenshot form android phone and getting out question and options with 99% accuracy. but i did that script/code in python. I can do same thing in matlab too.
