Converting Delphi program into Java

You are bidding on a project to transfer Delphi code into Java. In the past, we have had internal workers with a background in programming (though not their full-time job) write programs for our company. These happened to be in Delphi. Now that we are moving toward programming externally, we would like to take our latest project (which is a work in progress) and convert it to Java. This would make it easier for us to find an external programmer to work with the current code. We require that the new code be written in a highly commented, easy to follow fashion so that other programmers can easily understand and add to it. Someone who is available immediately and can deliver on a short time-frame is a plus. Bidder will be responsible for reading the current code in Delphi, transferring all of the code to Java, and recompiling the executable for testing internally. The bidder will then be responsible for any debugging. Approximately 10000 lines of code to be translated. These lines are written in a broken down, highly commented fashion. All code was written using Delphi 2009. The TMS components package was also utilized for this code. Bidders are expected to take the current Delphi source code, translate it into Java with as similar of functionality as possible to the original program, provide documentation for the new code, and, since the source code is still incomplete, ensure that the code is clearly written and highly commented for use with future programmers. ## Deliverables * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Wednesday May 4, 2011 5:03:41 AM: Hello bidders, A small change and some extra information based on the types of questions I have been receiving. The current program is written in Delphi 2009. It uses the TMS components, but no other 3rd party components. The current code is incomplete (bidders are not expected to complete the code), but is the beginning stages of a simulation in which users are starting their own company and making decisions. The GUI is very simple, users can click buttons or tabs to view information or make decisions, or they can input money values into cells to determine spending. After taking another look at the code, it is actually closer to 10,000 lines of code. If you need to adjust your bid based on this information, I apologize for the confusion.
