We are the Fernweh Family, a YouTube channel where we document our big and small adventures around the world in a vlog/cinematic/informative fashion. I work in the production field myself, so we pride ourselves on having a little better quality videos than the average YouTube clip, but we'd like to have our current logo revamped to help resemble that too.
The word Fernweh is the German word for "Wanderlust" (which is also German) but we'd like to somehow help explain what Fernweh means (and that it is not our last name) i.e. having there be an illustration of a paper aeroplane or a globe involved. We will add a dictionary type explanation in the final animation before revealing the whole logo, such as:
"fernweh (n.) orig. German - An ache for distant places; the crave for travel."
But I don't think there is a way to incorporate this into a logo, I will leave this here anyways and maybe you have an epiphany on how to incorporate something like this but this description is ultimately not required as part of the logo.
We are using Lucky Turns as our channel font (Thumbnail type, etc. see the attachments below) and would like to keep using it. But for the logo, the typeface will need to be modified to make the logo look a bit more succinct. I added "Lost LeBlanc" logo to the material below, as an example of compacting type to be a bit more in the direction we're looking for. Though that logo is too cheesy and swirly, hence we like the little more rough look of the brush type we're currently using.
We'd love to see some of your previous work on logos and hear what you might have in mind on how to create a logo with the current typeface, which will make our channel look more professional and stand out.
Thanks for looking into this project!
