Overview
Our client needs an app to run on an iPad Air, during events (may not be wifi at location).
The app ties in with a company film, which shows a spinning globe in space. The viewer zooms toward a location on the globe, through the clouds revealing a revealing a region, e.g. Middle East. Video then transitions to video and images of the various events happening in different countries within the region. The video then zooms back up to the spinning globe in space and repeats the process in another region.
We're simplifying and replicating the film, as an app, to be shown on iPad Airs during events. The ipads will be mounted into stands, people can click a region, flick through the events taking place, clicking a specific event for an overview (gallery of images and text). The user can also (budget permitting) enter their email address and send themselves a brief overview of the event and join a mailing list.
It's also important, as highlighted below, that the experience can reset itself if left idle. For someone new to expeirnce the app from the beginning.
User Experience Step-By-Step
Tablet with globe image (static) and 'EXPLORE' button.
Touch the explore button and a side menu of regions (Europe, Asia, [login to view URL], [login to view URL], Middle East) appears.
User clicks a region and a screen appears showing a list of events in that region
Select an event and more info will be presented, (event name, short description, date, location, image gallery).
If interested, the user can click a ‘send to me’ button, which triggers an email and they can send the details to an email (we'll also include a tickbox to join the mailing list).
If user leaves the page idle for more than X minutes, a popup with countdown timer appears asking if they want to continue, if the timer reaches 0. Page resets back to main landing page.
Reset button (bottom right of all pages) allows users to go back to the landing page at any time.
Additional Notes
The design of the screens will be provided
The initial screen may be video on a loop or a static image (need cost for both)
The iPad Air may not always have internet access, so needs to work offline
Needs to be fully tested
We would need to connect with the client SMTP to allow emails to come from their mail servers
English only
Needs to be updateable (add new events to regions, update text, images). Would only be updated 2-3 times a year.
