I recently worked on a smart helmet for accident detection using raspberry pi. The fall was detected through a accelerometer and gyroscope sensor(mpu 6050). Two approaches were used . 1) Setting thresholds for sensor value to detect fall 2) integrating ML classifier to detect fall( requires lot of data).
