We are a jewish educational non-profit with a successful video-based learning product (like Kahn Academy), and we are looking to supplement our video lessons with several educational games. Essentially, each course consists of a playlist of videos, readings, games, and quizzes. Each element in the playlist is a gateway element, meaning you have to pass it to unlock the next element in the playlist. The games we have in mind will be suitable for both boys and girls aged 8-14, be educational in nature (we will provide question/answers, graphics, other files), take between 3-7 minutes to play, be free of any guns, violence, etc., and will play on desktop (laptop) or on mobile as part of a responsive website. We are looking for a family of about a dozen games that can be used for different courses, i.e. the content of the game can change (files, graphics, copy, other submissions can change), but the dozen or so games themselves are the same across each course. We would prefer to not make extensive use of simple multiple-choice system with neat bells and whistles. For instance, let's say there is a question asked, and the player has to highlight the right answer as one of a set of moving balls in a play space, while avoiding getting hit by a big rock swinging back and forth. That would work. The project length is 3 to 6 months, less than 30 hrs/week, looking for intermediate level - mix of experience and value.
