Background Information on Modernism Decor Unlimited Project Modernism Decor Unlimited (MDU) is a manufacturing business specializing in manufacturing and selling decor items targeted at the global Mid-century modern decor market (see this Wikipedia entry for information on this decor style). Currently in its tenth year of operations, MDU has grown from a small manufacturing operation with a catalog of ten interior decor items to one that now manufactures in excess of 60 decor items, imports approximately 200 decor items from manufacturing business partners in Asia, and operates two outlet stores within a 250 mile radius of its U.S. manufacturing plant location. The owner of MDU, Lisa Harrison, has indicated that the company now has over 80 full-time employees in purchasing, manufacturing, logistics, marketing/sales (wholesale and retail), customer service, inventory management, information technology, human resources, and accounting job roles. In addition to Ms. Harrison, company management includes two vice presidents, one for operations and one for sales, supported by an administrative office staff of five. Ms. Harrison has contracted with your consulting team to manage the design, development, and implementation of a state-of-the-art business system to manage and improve the overall efficiency of the inventory management (which is impacted by manufacturing, marketing/sales, customer service, and logistics processes) in this business environment. Task 2.1:In a Microsoft Word document, a list of all potential entities for "New Products" with their associated attributes. An "entity" is a person, place thing, or event about which you collect, store, and retrieve data. For example, a customer entity might be illustrated as CUSTOMER: Customer_ID, Customer_First_Name, Customer_Last_Name, Mailing_Address, Email_Address, Phone_Number (this is just an example, your team may have better and/or more complete ideas on defining this entity!). For your Task 2.1 listing, do not identify the candidate key(s): the deliverable from this subtask is to list the Entities and their respective Attributes. Task 2.2: Modify the list built in Task 2.1 by underlining one or more attributes within each entity to indicate that they are a candidate key. Note that you may need to identify and add a candidate key for entities from your Task 2.1 list that do not have an attribute that would uniquely identify each instance (think "record" or "row" within the database table) of the entity. Task 2.3: Identify all potential relationships among the entities resulting from your work on Task 2.1. Here are two examples: (1) one CATEGORY may have many PRODUCTs, (2) many COLORs may be present in many PRODUCTS (use the format of these examples for your work). State each relationship on a separate line in your Word document.
