67735 Catalog/Cart Develop or Modify

Redesign and replace current online catalogue/cart system (see this at [login to view URL]). Current site uses custom designed PHP catalog system and Americart shopping cart. Mainly requires PHP scripting, but this project may require other Job Types as well ( I just don't know). Looking for full-featured system. Functionality, reliability, and longevity of design are key. Have been looking at using either OSCommerce - loaded 6 or Zen Cart (hosted by [login to view URL]) as a base, but open to persuasion otherwise. We recognize that this will be a critical decision that will impact our business long-term and solicit expert advice. If either OSC or Zen Cart are used, it will be important that this be a system that can be upgraded without great expense as the OSC or Zen Cart project develops. Successful bidder who provides what we need will have much work in the future as we clone and adjust this system for different product lines. Some characteristics that may or may not be typical: -- User ability to sort and display products by manufacturer/distributor -- * Search engine friendly urls -- Ability to suspend and edit orders including customer info, add/subtract items, shipping cost, tax, etc. -- Parse orders by manufacturer/distributor and auto-send emails upon admin order finalization (there is a mod that does this available for OSC but would have to be changed to include different variables) -- Sortable product attributes -- Product attributes than can be assigned a money value -- A product setting that, when selected in admin, and product is included in a customer's order, allows only "Common Carrier" shipping option (which is otherwise not one of the shipping options) -- Products with attributes that can be put on back order by attribute -- UPS shipping calculations for multiple "ship from" zip codes (one per each manufacturer/distributor) -- * Full-featured affiliate program * These are characteristics that can wait for a new OSC or Zen Cart version or mod that will be available within the next 3 to 6 months. -- Preferred: someone inside the USA -- Preferred: someone who provides contact info -- Preferred: someone who asks questions, gets to know and understand the specifics of our business, and is truly interested in producing the BEST solution to each aspect of the project -- After project completion, support for any programming bugs must be provided -- Accepted job requires that you sign a legal agreement that you will not copy ADSi's code and use or sell it as your own -- Any programming you do for us becomes our property and may not be used or resold to others -- Please let me know how long this project will take you to complete -- Respond with portfolio urls and information on the areas of your expertise
