We would like you to do an optimization of our website([login to view URL]), which includes:
1. Setup a staging for the website under [login to view URL] where you can implement all your modifications and apply to production only after a proper testing and our approval
Acceptance Criteria (I will provide a subdomain):
- staging access must not be public and must not affect SEO. Given I access [login to view URL] I must provide a valid staging username and password
- Given I am a website administrator I must be able to add or remove user access to staging
Implementation notes that might help:
- meta robots tag with value: "noindex, nofollow"
- [login to view URL] User-agent: * Disallow: /
- http basic auth - we'd write a dedicated plugin for adding and deleting users via the WP admin
- We use a shared hosting on Hezner for this website. I will not be able to give complete access to that server but I will provide you with sub-domain, ftp and wordpress access.
You can make an alternative solution with staging - we can actually use another server as well. We just want to have changes applied and tested somewhere before it gets applied to our website. I would like know, how are you(tech team) planning to deploy changes on our production server?
2. Determine and implement a good solution for making the website multilingual
Acceptance Criteria:
- Given I am a website administrator at [login to view URL] then I must be able to provide transtaltions and publish content in German and Eglish languages
- Given I open the source code then I must see href lang tags implemented according to this doc: [login to view URL]
- Website url structure must be like this [login to view URL] according to the article in the link above
Implementation notes that might help:
- Polylang ([login to view URL]) OR WPML ([login to view URL]) OR another better option
3. Optimize website performance and security
Acceptance Criteria:
- all the images on the website must have alt tags (should be already implemented but must be checked)
- all the images on the website must have optimized sizes according to the google insides results
- optimize caching and increase the website speed to get a score around 90 for both desktop and mobile version on the google speed insights
- check currently used security plugins and optimize the configuration to enhance website security
- implement necessary security optimization steps based on this article: [login to view URL]
