Design and develop a full accounting platform

Job Title: Accounting Software Engineer Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced Accounting Software Engineer to join our team and build a full accounting platform from scratch that is accessible via phone application. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of accounting principles and standards and prior experience in software engineering and developing financial applications. The candidate should be able to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Responsibilities: Design and develop a full accounting platform, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting modules, that is accessible via phone application and in compliance with accounting principles and standards such as GAAP and IFRS. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions. Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++. Develop and maintain software documentation, including technical specifications, test plans, and user manuals. Troubleshoot and debug software issues, working with QA teams to ensure software quality and reliability. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in accounting software engineering and integrate them into the platform as appropriate. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on the team. Showcase proof of recent projects built and delivered in accounting software engineering. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Accounting, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, with prior experience in developing accounting software. Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards such as GAAP and IFRS. Experience with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++. Experience with databases such as SQL, Oracle, or MySQL. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex software issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Experience with cloud-based technologies and architectures is a plus.
