I have a VB6 app that reads automotive OBD2 diagnostic data via the ELM 327 interface. It appears that Win 7 and Win 10 computers will not communicate via the ELM 327. So I have purchased the" ELMconfig compatible 500 kbits/s" interface, its replacement. The driver is installed and it communicates via the software included with it. However, it will not communicate using my VB6 code. For my test bed, I'm using a 2008 Ford Ranger V6. I switch from one to the other and I get absolutely no response from the ELMconfig interface, and the ELM 327 works perfectly. I need to modify my code to work with the new interface. My code is attached in the file.

Hi Understood your requirement. Well there are many developers who can work on vb6 and com port but only few of them only deliver the quality work and understand the internals properly and I am one of them. Reason behind this is that i am into this embedded and software domain for many years and do have ELM327 device also so can easily sort out the issue and deliver the good software. so far as my previous works or experience is concerned , i can share a good reference once we are connected.
