Purpose Site will provide the user the ability to visit a virtual cemetery by way of an interactive, Web-based environment. The Web site will be intended for all types of users. Getting to the tombstone of loved ones is difficult due to geographic challenges and busy schedules. Site will create a virtual meeting space to allow family members and friends to honor the dead without traveling to the physical burial site. Site will be an attractive product to people of all ages; however, people over the age of 30 will most likely utilize the Web site more frequently than younger users. 2. Overall Description The site will allow the user to perform various functions including but not limited to creating a memorial, searching and perusing existing memorials and post messages in forums 2.1 User Characteristics Site will cater to all users that are interested in either remembering loved ones that have passed or conversing with other individuals about death related topics. Death is common to all types of users; therefore, education levels, technical expertise and experience are irrelevant characteristics that are necessary to use the site 2.2 Product Components 2.3 User Interface Site users should enter the site and be greeted with appropriate color schemes and animation. The site should give a respectful appearance of a real cemetery – not too animated like a video game and not too gloomy like a horror animation. Users should feel as though they are entering a real cemetery and should immediately see what is available to them as options. The modules should be clear and concise to ease the navigation process. Users should be able to route to all available modules and easily return to the home screen. 3. Specific Requirements The following section will list out the site modules with specific requirements for each section. 3.1 Creating a Memorial 3.1.1 – User shall be able to choose from eight memorials 3.1.2 – Memorials will consist of tombstones and urns 3.1.3 – Four of the basic memorials will be free 3.1.4 – Four elaborate memorials will be available for a nominal, one-time fee 3.1.5 – The following fields must be captured for new memorials 1. Deceased First Name 2. Deceased Last Name 3. Deceased Middle Name 4. Deceased Suffix 5. Deceased Date of Birth 6. Deceased Date of Death 7. Epitaph 3.1.6 – System shall allow the user to make the memorial public or private 3.1.7 – System shall display payment options for any memorial that is made available to the public. 3.1.8 – The user shall be able to view sample memorials while creating a new memorial. 3.1.9 – System shall supply the user with a unique number that identifies the memorial that was created. 3.1.10 – System shall allow the user to email blast specific memorials or all of the user's memorials to friends and family. The email will contain a link to the memorial. 3.2 Searching Memorials 3.2.1 – System shall allow the user to search existing memorials by the following methods 1. Supply name or demographic information 2. Supply unique number 3.2.2 – System shall display one of three animations that give the user the feeling of walking though a cemetery to ultimately arrive at the user's search results. 3.2.3 – System will only route the user to the search results when the user has narrowed their search to one memorial. 3.2.4 – User will also be able to search by user to view all of the memorials posted by a specific user. 3.2.5 – The system shall allow the user to earmark certain memorials and users to easily navigate and view updates – “personal memorials” 3.2.6 – System shall return all users and memorials to the user performing the search; however, users may not access these memorials without username and password or unique memorial number. 3.3 Adding Items / Upload Items 3.3.1 – System shall allow the user to add the following items to a memorial. This list is not all inclusive: 1. Flowers 2. Bushes or shrubs 3. Flags/Banners 4. Scanned photographs 5. Rosaries 6. Cross palms 3.3.2 – Items should seem as real as possible to the user. Flowers and shrubs should have lifelines and expire after a pre-determined amount of time. The tomb should look overgrown with weeds, plants, etc if not visited more than 6 months. 3.3.3 – System shall only allow the users a set number of items (up to five pictures per memorial) 3.3.4 – System shall allow the users to add items to their memorial in a drag and drop environment. A select number of items will be prepared for launch to limit the amount of graphic design needed to complete the site. 3.3.5 – System shall allow the user to add text to the memorial in all available fonts, sizes and colors. 3.3.6 – Multiple languages for memorial text will be considered depending on the complexity of the development. 3.3.7 – The system shall allow the user to add prayers and other messages to memorials in addition to the more tangible items listed in section 3.3.1. 3.3.8 – The system shall provide the user with some pre-defined prayers and messages to add to their memorial. 3.3.9 – The system shall allow the user to upload an image of an existing tombstone as opposed to picking one of the eight memorials available. 3.4 Help Section 3.4.1 – The system shall supply a help section for users to view tutorials on the basic modules available on the site. 3.4.2 – The system shall allow the user to comment on a help topic to help other users. 3.4.3 – The system shall allow users to view a FAQ section to answer the more common inquires. 3.5 Register / Payment Center 3.5.1 – The system shall allow the user to register with the site to receive information regarding site updates or updates to the memorials in their favorites. When registering, the following fields are captured: 1. Username (nickname or screen name) 2. Email 3.5.2 – The system shall allow the user to pay for services via the following methods: 1. PayPal 2. Credit Card Transactions 3.5.4 – The system shall allow the user to change their username and/or password 3.5.5. – Once registered, the system shall pre-populate the required and the optional information when creating memorials. 3.5.6 – The system shall allow users to register with the site and not create memorials. Some users may just want to participate in the message board areas. 3.5.7 – The following information should be considered when registering: 1. User First Name - Required 2. User Last Name - Required 3. User Middle Name – Required 4. User Email (optional) 5. User Age (optional) 6. User Mailing Address (optional) 7. User State – Required 8. User Nickname (screen name) - Required 9. User Password – Required 10. How did you hear about our site? 3.6 – Forums / Communities – Quote Search 3.6.1 – The system shall allow registered users to post messages in various discussion board sections. The following is a short list of discussion board sections: 1. Famous Quotes 2. General Discussion 3. Seeking Advice 3.6.2 – The system shall post quotes from famous people that revolve around the topic of death. Registered users will be able to post messages in reply to these posted quotes. These posts will be listed under the “Famous Quotes” section of the discussion boards. 3.6.3 – The system shall track all of the posts in a database so that the admin can monitor the types of posts and replies that are being submitted. 3.7 – Admin Diagnostics 3.7.1 – The system shall allow the administrator (admin) to view various items that will describe the success of the site. The following metrics will be available. This list is not all inclusive: 1. Number of visits per day, per month, per year 2. Number of visitors that visit and do not register 3. Number of registered users 4. Number of new memorials every day 5. Most used items on memorials 6. Famous quote that has the most posts 3.7.2 – The system shall allow the admin the view information related to the registered user. The following information will be available for download and analysis: 1. User Entity – Database entity storing all user information 2. Memorial Entity – Database entity that is tied to the user entity on User ID to give the admin the ability to query and report on user activity. 3. Discussion Entity – Database entity to allow the admin to monitor discussion board activity to ensure the site is suitable for all visitors. 3.8 – Admin Site Management 3.8.1 – The system shall allow the admin to manage the site by performing the following actions: 1. Add new items to allow users to drag and drop onto memorials. 2. Alter prices of items 3. Add new discussion topics 4. Add new memorial templates available to users 5. Reply to a discussion topic with title “Site Administrator”
