     If it was me I'd have gone for project bidding .. cos there i would at least be able to pay by milestone if I'm happy with the design progress.. also gives me time to research the design to make sure I'm not being ripped off with a generic design. If I am then I can dispute & FL management always gives preference to employers.

  avoid variations of the split logo format where the stalks of alphabets are used to break the name into parts , either as speech bubbles or as normal as these are all too common in innumerable contests. Case in point

  Do not "seal" the contest ... as there will be a very high probability that you'll just end up with a generic logo that no one can report against. Appealing for 'sealing' is a common tactic that they know works to hide behind. If they have serious design skills, it costs them only 50 cents to seal their own entry .. problem is that they might end up submitting so many generic entries per person, that that amount tends to rack up. So they burden the CH with the sealing cost.
