I can also recommend other manufacturing processes which may be more suitable, depending on the nature of the part. Design Work I have 23 years of tool, jig and fixture design, along with 10 years of front facing consumer product design experience. My projects have included shaft and bearing housings, circuit board housings and mounting stacks, LCD screen face plates enclosures, with various port mounting (eg. usb, hdmi, etc), waterproof wifi unit housings, and many more industrial and consumer level products. CNC Programming I have been setting-up and programming various types of CNC lathes and mills since 2001. This includes complete process planning fixture design, and troubleshooting for both high volume production and “one off” type work. I have worked in several different industries, including, but not limited to aerospace, defense, food, medical, and nuclear power. I also have experience working with a wide variety of different materials including exotics like inconel, double duplex, waukesha, and tungsten. Employment In the beginning of my career, I worked in several small jobbing shops, collecting skills and knowledge from many sources. Over time, I became an expert in CNC milling and turning applications, while accumulating the skills for design that would later help me advance my career. In 2011, I took on the role of machine shop supervisor of a successful bakery equipment manufacturer for 4 years. After that, I was the full time CNC programmer (lathe and mill) at a small local shop which supplies tooling and components to Ontario Power Generation and it's subcontractors for nuclear power applications. As of 2019, I have been the Mechanical Operations Manager for a rapidly growing inspection camera manufacturer. I'm responsible for product design and development, CNC programming, and the management of the machine shop. In 5 short years our team has grown the company by 3x. I thought I'd give Upwork a go as a part time / hobby type thing. I'm easy to deal with, and not hurting for money (but I don't work for free), and I'm looking for unique, challenging projects.
