I'm in the need of a professional pole barn plan for an equipment garage. It is a bit of a unique situation as I already used a previous engineered plan to get the city permit, and the structure is already partially built. The plan I used is attached. However, when I built the structure I deviated from the plans somewhat. The city inspector said the structure as it stands is sound, but that the plans will need to reflect the the changes I made before he can permit the building. Unfortunately the engineer who wrote the attached plans is no longer available to make those changes.
The most significant deviations I made are 1) I did not notch the poles where the trusses land and instead used carriage bolts through the truss and pole, 2) The truss ends meet the pole not at the bottom chord/rafter junction, but roughly 1 foot toward the center of the bottom chord, then carriage bolts were placed through both the bottom chord and rafter. A picture of this will explain much better if you are interested.
In summary, I am need of a new pole barn plan to reflect the changes I made on a structure that is already partially built in order to pass city inspection. I am under the impression the necessary changes are reasonable and structurally sound, however this is something I'm happy to discuss. The structure is not finalized and there is lots of room to make necessary changes to the structure as well. In a perfect world I would send you pictures of the structure as it is so far and we could discuss what changes could be made to the plans that would both pass inspection, and be reasonably added to the current structure.
