We are looking for a front-end developer/UI designer to help with developing a website to accompany a car-pooling app dedicated for college students. The goal of the website is to attract user leads and help with building and growing a user base for the app. The individual is expected to work closely with our technical team and take ownership of developing the front-end using one of the major modern front-end frameworks (e.g., react js). The website will utilize and integrate with a RESTful backed developed in-house. Furthermore, integration with standard APIs such as Google Places APIs for autocomplete features is expected. The following is a list of key competencies:
- Working knowledge of major front-end frameworks (e.g. react js)
- Ability to integrate with RESTful APIs
- Familiar with source control and ability to use git and Github
- Use Google Places APIs to implement autocomplete
- Know how to build a docker image of the website for easy deployment in AWS.
Key features and requirements of the website
- Must render nicely on various screen sizes, browsers and devices including mobile phones
- Must have attractive, smooth, modern looking and clean design (rough wireframes will be provided)
- Must SPAs and avoid unnecessary reloading of entire page
- Use cookies for session tracking.
