I will require a project to be done and it will be based on the food eaten by chinese during the different festivals together with the meaning behind each on them.
This includes the lost and unusual tradition found in other countries by the chinese.
For example, it is a traditional for newly wed couples to consume a fully eaten full boiled egg in sweet soup. The message behind it will compromise the blessings of a sweet marriage.
Get a hold of all the different food eaten, during the different festivals by the chinese. New year, dragonboat festival, mooncake festival, wedding, funeral etc.
The different food that we eat, the langauge behind it and some of the procedure that is required to eat the food. For example, during dragonboat festival, you are to throw one rice dumpling down the river first before consuming your own.
This project can be done in various form.
If you decide to write an essay - it should be around 700 words, maximum 900 - excluding bibliography. Please observe the word-count. You should have at least 3 (three) references other than Wikipedia. But the more, the better. At least one of these should be an academic reference - a research a paper published in a peer-review journal, a chapter from an academic edited volume, a book/monograph, etc. Lecture slides do not constitute references. Make sure to cite properly.
As I said, you may wish to experiment with other forms too - videos, cartoons, presentations, etc. In that case, you will still need a brief write-up (200-300 words) explicating your project. You will also need the references (bibliography), so that it's clear where you got your info from. I PREFER A POWERPOINT WITH NICE DESIGN AND ANIMATED FEATURES. PICTURES AND RELEVANCE DETAILS OR VIDEO.
