Critique: Ways of Dying or The Price of Stones

This paper should be a thoughtful discussion of both what you think the author wants to

communicate about his society and the contemporary issues it portrays. What does the narrative reveal about the ways social identity (gender, class, ethnicity, religion), the legacies of colonialism (white privilege, urban growth, poverty, rural migration) and a “developing” country’s social issues structure the lives of the people portrayed. Briefly discuss the book’s national setting, that is, the recent history of the country. Please make an effort to explain the title.
