Corporate finance, M&A, IBD – writing, research, models etc Know a lot?

Hey! This is an opportunistic post in case find someone smart.

I have a blog to teach nerdy things (normally on startup) and doing more on M&A related topics (made a collection of M&A decks people like). I worked in Lazard FIG years ago and said I’d try help others when I could so here’s an attempt.

In case, seeing if can get some help to make content and tools. Content is 99% for free and not to do SEO bla to push something, so want a person that enjoys to teach others.

ROLE/SCOPE

You have to have worked in CF, M&A etc to start..

This is very dependent on your ability and interests! I have a list to do myself, but thought to try get help. Some things include:

# Explaining concepts in blogs: accretion/dilution, DCF, LBO etc

# Posting a resource on a blog and adding commentary: eg JPM has a guide to DCF so quickly add commentary to share the resource

# Research: I’m making collections of resources you can take over

# Explaining models: I have some free models and you can explain how to use them better

# Financial modelling: You can 1/ help me finish big models I’ve been building, 2/ help me add new template tools in Excel

# Comps: I want to make public comps so you could setup templates etc then have someone fil in (if you want to manage)

HOW YOU WORK

You need to see this as something fun you would enjoy doing!

# You are owner and not micro-managed. We agree and discuss then you take over

# No deadlines so you can take on consulting work and prioritise that (just do enough to have momentum to get things done)

# Depending, you can hire/manage minions to get boring parts done

# You don’t have to take on any work you find dull so this is fun (tradeoff being you won’t get paid what you’re worth)

YOU

# Expert to easily write and work on M&A related topics (you quit banking)

# Probably bored and would like something low stress but fun to work on when you want

# Fluent English / can write and explain things well

# Self-starter (you were an analyst lol) and don’t want to be managed

# Willing to learn to use ChatGPT to work smartly (I can teach you and will provide tools)

# Ideally get ideas of things you’d like to do once you have executed some things

PAYMENT

Given you can pick projects, deadlines and I intend for 95% of everything to be free I need to logically pay min I can (for content that is genuinely helpful). So tell me what works for you.

However, I have a list of paid things to make so you can be remunerated differently for those.
