Convert a simple data-driven program from eVB to eVC (PocketPC)

Our product is an API callable from eVB and eVC, enabling PocketPC applications to connect over the Internet and interact with databases. We have several sample programs demonstrating our product, all developed in eVB (embedded Visual Basic) for PocketPC. The project: Convert a data-driven program from eVB to eVC. Requires: Knowledge of ADO (recommended: ADO for WinCE 3.1). Experience with eVB and eVC is not mandatory, but is strongly recommended. This is a contract job, and the programmer will be required to learn eVB and eVC on their own time. Knowledge of VB and VC++ is required. You can download the eVB and eVC development kit from Microsoft's [url removed, login to view] website. Since Microsoft provides an emulator (min. OS required: Win2000), there is no requirement to have a physical PocketPC device. This project is conversion of the sample application: "dbBridge Simple". This project is similar to that described at [url removed, login to view] with the following exceptions: 1. The form to "Fetch data and show field values" is not required. 2. The form to "Fetch data and scroll records" is not required. 3. Not shown is an additional selection: Manipulate databases/tables. View this requirement by downloading the source code. Source code: Download from: [url removed, login to view] eVB will be required to be installed on your desktop computer to open and view the source code. Note: the API interface to our product is not part of the download. That will be provided to the successful bidder before commencement of the project.

## Deliverables

Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. Complete copyrights to all work purchased. All work must duplicate the functionality of the source eVB programs as closely as possible. Code must be high-quality, commented and full readable. Completion of this first project does not imply any committment that the programmer will be awarded subsequent projects. Although the program can be developed using the emulator, it must run on several PocketPCs (notable iPaq and Jornado). There are no known issues that would prevent that. In the event the program is able to run on the emulator, but not on the actual device, the contractor will negotiate with the successful programmer to have changes made at the contractor's cost.

## Deadline information

This initial project is budgeted at $125 maximum. Project is to be completed within 2 weeks of awarding.
