Attendance system in php

This is a employee attendance system we have 20 different shifts and times. The admin allots this to the employee and then employee has to come and sign in on a daily basis in the system. For example his office time is 10 am to 6 pm and he forgets the system should automatically log out at his schedules time after wait for 5 hrs extra. Shift time can also start from today 10 pm in the night and go up to 6 am in the morning.
So the mysql db should keep storing time in and out on a daily basis. when ever an employee logs in and if the db does not have any shift alloted it should prompt also it should prompt if he is loggin in on a wrong shift time.
shift code time
a1 10.00 am to 6.00 pm

a3 2 pm to 9 am

The adminstrator will allot shift code to the employee he should be given feature of typing empno and shift code and should be able to upload so the db gets updated
