We are looking for a business to consumber chat program. The chat widget will reside on a customer's website. Visitors to the customer's website will be able to click an icon to request a chat session with a chat agent that works for our customer. Each customer can have multiple agents logged in, and each agent can handle multiple chats at a time.
The software will need to have a centralized web application backend to allow all chat agents from all of our customers to manage and respond to incoming chat requests for the respective customer.
This is very similar to live help chat options on many business websites.
There needs to be an option for pro active chat. After a certain amount of time the chat will pop up automatically. This option needs the ability to be turned off and on within the account management portal.
Customer will need to be able to login and obtain the necessary code to embed the chat software on their website.
Agents will need to be able to login and manage their chat sessions and chat with visitors, both in a desktop environment and mobile environment.
All chat records will need to be logged and viewable by administrators of the customer.
The chat software needs to be socket-based, probably using Node.js or comparable technology. The Web app backend needs to be built on a LAMP Stack, preferably with CodeIgniter. We can provide the environment.
The first version will be a basic chat widget that can be easily embedded on any website and the web app backend that will allow agents to log into a centralized backend to manage chats.
When a new chat request is initiated, all agents that are logged in (for the respective customer) will be notified and given the option to accept the chat. Only one agent can accept a chat.
