Our project, is basically copying snapchat features for face filters in 3d. Here is an example tutorial and code that tracks the face features: [login to view URL]

So our project has 3 steps:
1. Track face features in 3D
2. Load a 3d model design
3. Scale and track 3D model to overlay on face
We will create our designs using some template "face" 3d model. So any of our designs will always export the same model file so that once we create the scale code we can scale this model to match the face features correctly; eyes->eyes, nose->nose, edge of face->edge of face, mouth->mouth. Perhaps the code then deletes the face model by name, and leaves the 3d face filter in place so that the scale can be perfect every time.
Here is an example of 3D glasses. So in our case we would export a face model with 3d glasses and the ios code would import the file, scale face to face, then delete the face model, leaving the glasses perfectly fitted on the face.
The answer on how to scale could be in this video [login to view URL] . But these features are mostly around the iphone X only that has a face 3d scanner. But perhaps there still might be some functions to place a 3d model on a face.
We undertand that ARKit is only available for backfacing camera on all devices. We need to be able to place the 3d model in FRONT-FACING camera, so this will require either unity or some other 3D model framework in ios.
