I would to implement in my project a features to calculate the geodesic distance between two points on a procedural mesh. i have attached a file of a mesh that i'm using.

The project is to make the 3D design of a tensegrity structure ( four sizes and four different materials) and then to calculate the maximum charge that the structure can handle. The structures are made of galvanized steel pipes connected by bolts. The cover of the domes is made of double PVC coated polyester fabric. I have an idea and I want you to make my vision a reality. (at least on paper that is) I would like to get an initial design for 25 metres diameter sphere and 50 metres diameter sphere. Would like spheres to float then be able to be submerged. (I think this can be done by flooding of pipes??) 200mm (od) HDPE SR17 pipe comes in 6m, 9m, 12m length (water pipe).
