email strategy

Hello - I'm in need of an email strategy wiz. This is for a small healthcare nonprofit that is trying to up our email game. We provide training to leading physicians across the U.S. and license our methods to hundreds of clinicians who become "faculty" and teach our material to their institutions via a train-the-trainer model. Current state: irregular emails using Mailchimp to their whole community list with whatever random content seems appropriate at the time. Future state: we'd like to segment the e-mail into monthly all-list email blasts and weekly emails to core community members. We do not currently have a calendar, clear strategy, or pay much attention to metrics (although there's a strong open and click rate). Likely Deliverables (would be open to editing based on your advice): + Overall e-mail communications strategy -- knowing why we are doing it and what the metrics of success should be; clear guidance for what type of content should go in monthly vs weekly email (separate but overlapping audiences); checklist for how to prep emails - ideally want to be able to can majority of content in advance and then make small edits (we have some buckets of potential content in mind, but require help detailing out how to gather and prep content in easiest manner); rhythm - for instance, should we send both community-wide and core emails on same week or do 3 weeks of core and 1 week of community-wide? + Two different templates, one for each segment; + 5-10 sample emails with full design, content, etc for review and editing / approval; There is a potential for this to lead to a recurring job of implementing strategy and managing e-mails. More details upon application. We are only interested in individuals or groups that have great online reviews and a history of success in e-mail communications strategy. It would be a bonus if you also have a design background and can assist in the template design, but this is not a requirement.
