I require a python script that includes the ability to submit content in memory (eg a string) via LPR (as specified in RFC1179) on port 515 to a print queue hosted at a specific IP address. Deliverable should include error and status checking and should permit all required parameters to be passed to a procedure that does the LPR sending. This is a fairly simple project that will feed into a larger Python project over time. Python 2.7 and latest version of Python 3 support is required.
