Job Description: We are looking for a ghostwriter to co-write a short novel with another writer (about 12 chapters, i.e. half of the novel). The writer will be provided with a detailed plot complete with plot points and character sheets and is expected to liaise with our editors in the production of this novel. The Story: Eva has a special gift, or perhaps a curse. She sees people who are not visible to others. From childhood, she has learnt to repress her gift in order to fit into normal society. Now grown up, she falls in love and marries her idol--her psychology professor, the respected Dr. Brennan. After his mother’s death, Eva is forced to move to her new husband’s family house in the small town of Fulbourn. As she deals with the pressures of adapting to her new life, her husband is revealed to be demanding and unsympathetic to her condition. Pushed to the brink of despair, Eva finds escape in the enigmatic history of the manor that is her new home. One day, she meets one of the former lords of the manor, Richard Berkeley, who died mysteriously at age 18, shot dead in his own bedroom. As Berkeley recounts his past, Eva gets drawn to his tale and eventually to him. Eva soon rediscovers the tensions that arise from balancing her normal, human relationships and her relationships with the ghosts she sees. With her sanity constantly in doubt, Eva must eventually face the implications of her actions, and choose whether to continue resisting or give in entirely to her passions.
