1. Need a robust linux based c program which will continuously listen on port (udp/tcp). and call a dummy process() functionality frame pointer. 2. The listener shall be able to run continuously on startup and restarted in case of crash or if stopped. Upstart (or similar)configuration and steps to be provided by the developer. 3. A means to debug the application using gdb (or better) shall be provided step by step in documentation so that next person can maintain it. 4. Process if stopped the reason shall be documented in some log directory for diagnostics. 5. All above requirements to be implemented on ubuntu 14.4 or later 6. High professionalism and good documentation if demonstrated, can be awarded further work of database integration and maintenance. 7. Aws skills will be added advantage. 8. Price negotiable.

Based on our discussion via PM ... I am testing with AWS C++ SDK for DynamoDB currently - using the same DB schema as yourself. I propose to install a SystemD service to automatically start the program. This could be used to automatically restart the program in case of a crash. It also includes logging facilities (via 'journalctl') and can generate core-dumps for 'gdb' in the case of crash. The core-dumps can be inspected using 'coredumpctl' (available as part of a Ubuntu package). I am based in Ireland - different timezone to India.

Hello, I have experience in C, Linux, pthread and BSD socket API. I can write Linux service application with multi threaded structure. One thread of the service can listen UDP or TCP port and call a dummy function as you demand. The application can be a Ubuntu service. I can prepare service scripts in order to run it at startup, start and stop whenever user call it from command line. I can prepare makefile and define debug and release options in it. I can use log4cplus library with this application and write logs into a file. I have currently a day job and I can only work on this project at evenings and weekends. Regards, Cumali Ceylan

Hello! This is just right up my alley. I can definitely do this. I have A+ skills in Linux including C/C++ programming and most scripting languages including perl, python, bash, etc. I have done many systems and application programming projects (including TCP/UDP socket programming) on Linux and other embedded systems. I own a personal desktop that runs Ubuntu 14 (its a 32 bit system though as its old - I began at Ubuntu 9 or Karmic Kaola back in the day), so testing out the program(s) on a similar target (32 or 64 bit) should be easier and seamless.
