Mechanical Design Engineer

Our technology-driven firm's engineering department currently has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for carrying out the duties of the Engineering department, including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating and process development. The successful candidate will report directly to the Design Manager and collaborate with design/prototyping and shop/assembly teams on design projects. Benefits include: Paid Sick leave, Bonus and Incentives Responsibilities and Duties • Uses specialized software to create models and drawings of consumer products • Research new materials and methods of development • Organize and maintain existing engineering records • Construct prototypes and confirm designs with design/purchasing team • Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes if required • Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards Qualifications and Skills • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or related field • 4+ years' experience in Mechanical design and Product realization from concept • In-depth knowledge and hands on experience with Fusion 360 or SolidWorks or PTC Creo 3D CAD software. • Extensive knowledge of Metal/ Plastic fabrication processes for Enclosure design. Material selection, molding techniques, cutting, Stress/ Strain analysis. Design for consumer centric appliances. • Understanding of gear assembly • Impeccable attention to detail for user experience • Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively Preferred Skills • Enclosure design experience for consumer centric products • Proficient with Fusion 360 or SolidWorks • Material selection, molding techniques, Metal Enclosures • Industrial design a plus
