Registry Key keeps getting overwritten - Win Server 2012 R2

I have an app that stores the configuration information in the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\[AppName] However, I noticed there is a key in... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal Server\Install\Software\[AppName] ..as well, which has pretty much the same structure (sub keys), but with different config data. When a RDS user logs on, it seems their configuration data in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\[AppName] gets overwritten... I think it might get overwritten by what is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal Server\Install\Software\[AppName] Does that make sense and do you know how to fix it? I realize I could switch Terminal Services mode to "Remote Administration mode" but I think that only allows for 2 concurrent RDS sessions, and we have around 10 RDS users on this 2012 R2 machine. Note: I tried to delete the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal Server\Install\Software\[AppName] but it seems to automatically re-generate when a RDS user logs in afresh to an RDP session.
