I have a VB software service running on my desktop that is connected to a Microsoft server. When I enable the service, it connects to a remote server and provides options data (not historical, only current values). I need a VB or C++ call function written that will initialize a connection with the API that this piece of software has and then do two things:
1. keep the current active value, live in the last row of a MySQL database so that I can access it with another program and;
2. record the closing value of each one minute period for each value returned by the call along with the timestamp.
The first column of the database will consist of one "primary key" column called "TimeFrame" which will be shared by all other columns. The specific call function that we will use to connect actually returns 96 numeric values. Each value needs to be stored in .xxxx format in it's own column next to the appropriate time stamp to be later charted by another program.
The naming convention for each of these 96 columns is attached in an excel spreadsheet called naming.xlsx. There is one symbol that I'd like to use in the naming convention which is a minus (“-“) symbol. Please advise if that can be used to name columns in Mysql.
I have also attached a pdf explaining the established API that is set up with this piece of software. This outlines the methods used to connect, stay connected, and call the functions.
