We are currently seeking a freelancer to work on an entire project involving the manufacturing design of real machines. In order to assess the candidate's understanding and problem-solving skills, we will provide a specific task before sharing the complete project information. The candidate is required to provide a solution through design drafting for three mechanical mechanisms: 1. Pick and Place of 5-6gm Part: Design and develop a mechanical gripper system capable of picking parts from a vibrating feeder part dispenser shoot and placing them accurately. The system should incorporate two axes of movement (top & bottom and left & right) to achieve precise positioning. The gripper must be capable of picking and placing parts weighing 5-6 grams. Additionally, the gripper should be versatile and able to handle a wide range of parts, making it suitable for picking hundreds of different components. The entire system should be robust, suitable for industrial-grade applications, and capable of withstanding a dusty and uncovered environment. 2. Single Hydraulic Movement with Multiple Steps: Design and develop a hydraulic cylinder system capable of moving four individual parts in two different directions. The system will consist of a hydraulic cylinder placed at the bottom to lift a single unit composed of four individual parts. Each part will have a defined movement, with the first and third parts moving upward, the second part moving downward (opposite to the force of the hydraulic pressure), and the fourth part moving upward. The system should include mechanical hard stoppers to ensure precise positioning for each individual part. All components and design choices should be of robust industrial-grade quality to withstand a dusty and uncovered environment. 3. Pick and Place 4-8kg Product with 90-Degree Rotation: Design and develop a mechanical pick and place system capable of gripping delicate parts with high precision and performing a 90-degree rotation. The system should include a mechanical gripper designed to grip the delicate part with a tolerance of less than 50 microns. Gripping will be performed from the bottom and top. The system should also incorporate two directions of movement: up & down and top & bottom, along with a 90-degree rotation. The entire process, including gripping, movement, and rotation, should be smooth and without jerks or imbalances. The operations should be driven by an induction motor, and all safety aspects and tolerance requirements will be addressed through mechanical design. The weight of the parts to be gripped will range from 4-8 kg per unit, and the system should have a single source for each mechanism/movement. The design should accommodate the pick and place operation for one unit up to 32 units using a single source, with an emphasis on robust industrial-grade components. Manufacturing drawings, including assembly, sub-assembly, machining, fabrication, and bought-out parts, should be provided. The design should be suitable for a very dusty and uncovered industrial environment. Once the candidate's solution to the given statements through design drafting is evaluated, we will assess their understanding and problem-solving skills. If the candidate is successful, we will provide them with the complete project information to proceed with the real machine manufacturing design. The emphasis is on creating technically sound designs that can be successfully implemented in practical manufacturing processes.
