That is a healthy size database. It will require some thoughtful analysis to optimize. I specialize in optimizing VLDB (Very Large Database) systems and have the experience required for this project. The last VLDB system I optimized was for an Oil & Gas company. They had 150M+ records which occupied 1.5 Terabytes of drive space. Queries took 10-30 minutes to execute. Using advanced optimization techniques I was able to reduce those to 1-5 seconds each. My method is as follows. 1. Create a local Virtual Machine with the PHP script(s) and MySQL database. 2. Profile the application as-is, find the bottlenecks. 3. Discuss my recommendations with you. 4. Implement the recommendations on your production web site. I create a local VM so that I can perform in-depth surgery on the application without impacting your production system.
