Needs to be completed within 4 days and must use MSAccess 2003 only. Project Specification: The Macarthur Masters Athletics Club requires development of their club database. The basic tables have been setup but the developer ran away with all their club funds and they now have to approach university students to finish the job. The system maintains member records and provides convenient access to a range of information. In Masters Athletics, members are classified into 5 year age groups. A person 33 years old would be classified in the 30 year age group, a person 47 years old would be classified in the 45 year age bracket etc. See the database structure document for details of tables and fields used. Basic functionality: The system will enable maintenance of membership records. It will be possible to: - Add new members - Search for members - Delete members - Edit members' details - Update registration payments In addition it should be possible to obtain easily exportable reports such as: - A list of financial members with their mailing addresses (suitable for a mail merge) - A list of members who are not financial (non-renewals) - An email list of financial members (suitable for text input to an email system) - A summary of the gender and age-group breakdown - A list of members with birthdays in a particular chosen month Advanced functionality: Startup: When the system starts it should automatically pick up the system date and update members' age groups correctly. For example if a person's date of birth was yesterday and they turned 45 years old then the system would update their agegroup from 40 to 45. Registrations: There are two kinds of registrations: normal club registration and Athletics NSW registration. Normal club registration. When a person renews, the system must generate a new record in the Membership Fees table and the system must pickup the current system date and record it in the MemReceived field in the Membership Fees table. A normal club registration is denoted by an ‘R' code in the Payment Type field. At the same time it must extract the year of this date and use that year to construct a season data item which is placed in that field of both the Membership and Membership Fees table. The system must also record the expiry date of the membership which will be 30th September of the current year if the membership is being paid between Jan 1st and July 31st or it will be 30th September of the following year. The current registration fee is $40. Athletics NSW registration. As with normal registrations, an Athletics NSW registration also must generate a new record in the Membership Fees table. The Payment Type code for this is “AS” or “AW”. There are several different fees which should be handled viz: Winter season (“AW”): Full fee ($50) or Concession ($30) Summer season(“AS”): Full fee ($100) or Concession ($60) Winter season expiry date is 30th September of the current year. Summer expiry date is as for normal club registration, see above. In addition there should be a “Child Protection” checkbox on the form which is recorded in the ChildProtection field of the Membership Fees table and a textbox for a registration number, which is recorded in the RegANSWNo field of the Membership Fees table. Requirements: Whilst some of the basic functionality can be handled via normal Access queries etc, manipulation of dates, ages and fees, as discussed under advanced functionality, must be done using VBA coding. In addition, the system must be user-friendly, it must have a clean, easy-to-use, forms-based interface which demonstrates use of forms and controls such as buttons, boxes, labels, multi-pages etc. VBA code must be well-documented,modularised and controls must have appropriate names and captions.
