I have good experience in working with PIC and ARM microcontrollers. I have worked on many CAN based projects in my previous company. Most of the projects were related to OBDII diagnostics. Also I have done many CAN based projects for my masters degree. And I have a very good experience in Vector CANoe tool. From the project description I understand that you are trying to re engineer the nitro obd 2 device. But I am not sure whether it is possible. The controller on nitro obd 2 will be code protected and yo won't be able to read the hex file. Another option is use ELM327/STN1110 controller and add functionalities according to your requirements.
